Apis mellifica is a well-known homoeopathic medicine prepared from the honeybee. It primarily acts on the cellular tissues, especially affecting the skinmucous membranes, and serous membranes, causing edematous swellingredness, and stinging pain—much like the reaction to a bee sting. Apis is widely used for conditions with sudden swellinginflammation, and fluid accumulation, as well as for urinaryrespiratory, and gynecological complaints.
