Indication

Proteus morgani [Prot] is a bowel nosode medicine used in homoeopathy, derived from the bacillus Proteus. It is especially suited to individuals who are dark-haired, pale, thin, and florid in appearance. This medicine is deeply acting, addressing a wide range of chronic conditions involving the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system, urogenital system, circulatory disturbances, and intense skin affections. It is particularly helpful in patients with high mental tension, irritability, and physical exhaustion.

SBL's Proteus morgani can be helpful in the following conditions:

• Nervous System and Mental-Emotional Health
o Marked tension, irritability, depression—can become violent if provoked.
o Averse to company, deeply exhausted, and prone to weeping.
o Neurological symptoms like numbness, cramps, and weakness in limbs.

• Cardiovascular Exertion
o Sudden anginal or coronary attacks—even at rest or during minimal activity.
o Heart strain, pain on exertion or in cold.
o ECG may show coronary insufficiency without infarction.
o Phlebitis and poor peripheral circulation.

• Gastrointestinal Distress
o Acidity, heartburn, sourness, flatulence, and hunger pain not relieved by eating.
o Vomiting after meals. Dilated stomach.
o Constipation and sensation of a “ball” in the intestines.
o Pain in the right and left iliac fossae.
o Intestinal worms (oxyuris).

• Burning Urethra & Profuse Leucorrhoea
o Intense burning in the urethra and ache in kidney region.

o Bilious episodes and vomiting around menstrual periods.

o Severe pruritus—particularly in body folds like perineum and axillae.
o Boils (e.g., in axillae), chronic dermatitis with discharge (especially hands).
o Chin and upper lip eruptions: papulo-pustular, dry, scaly, crusted, with 6-month duration.

• Cough With Chest Tightness
o Cough with sputum; worsened by cold air and physical effort.
o Chest tightness, pain, and shortness of breath.
o Paniculitis (inflammatory nodules under the skin/fat).

• Musculoskeletal Pain
o Backache, fibrositis of head and neck, slipped disc.
o Intermittent claudication, calf and leg pain, sciatica.
o Bruised appearance of legs, Raynaud’s disease, hammer toes.

• Dim Vision
o Occasional dimness of vision.
o Meibomian cyst formation in eyelids.

• ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) Trouble
o Fluent coryza with indoor aggravation.
o Relaxed throat, making speech difficult.
o Sensation of flatulence stuck in the throat.
